I play a lot of instruments and I used to think this way. I am currently finding some fun ones on the internet like the Mario theme song. What helps is to keep your practice time limited to 15 minutes and then give yourself 10 or so minutes to "do anything you want / play around". There's really no way of getting around it (believe me I've tried). Unfortunately, the beginning steps of learning any musical instrument are tedious and boring. You'll likely develop bad habits, you won't be able to read music properly, etc. Synthesia is really a terrible way to learn how to play the keyboard or piano. I personally would use this guy's YouTube channel as a "free" source to start out: Hitting the right notes on a keytar (really just the right hand of the piano) is really only a tiny fraction of learning the piano.
